Background: Wrote my first song ("One More for the Road
Bartender") at age 13, after which my career pretty much peaked by
15. My father reminded me frequently that the guitar was "not a real
instrument" but otherwise encouraged me to play loudly at my friends'
homes. Did the solo lounge act routine at 16, played in a couple rock
bands in high school for the sole purpose of being a public spectacle.
Consider Azuar the musical equivalent of Viagra (insert punch line
here). Greatest songwriting influences: Paul Simon and James Taylor.
